On January 26 & February 24, 2006, GSO sent new Delegate Area Install Disks.  The program failed to install properly both times.  Joe G. of Computer Solutions helped me to fix the database problem on March 1, 2006.  We are now up and running.  Karen H. of the GSO Records Department has been in close contact over the entire situation.  On March 8, 2006 we received an update disk.  148 records were changed.  I submitted 126 group changes since January 1, 2006.  33 of them have not been updated.  92 of the detailed updates I submitted thus far, needed to be resubmitted.

I printed the entire database report of 1091 records.

128 of those group records were not assigned to a district.  Those were distributed at last month’s Area Meeting to the proper DCMs.   I asked for their help in identifying those records.  Some of those groups are still active.

258 group records were distributed today.  They have INACTIVE or UNKNOWN GSRs and Mail Contacts. Approximately 60% of those groups are ACTIVE groups holding meetings.  I’ve asked the DCMs to help gather any information they can.

I distributed 46 group records, which do not indicate Meeting Days or Times.  That’s all we need to get them listed in our local directory is the Days & Times they meet.

*** Just a reminder that May 1st, 2006 is the deadline for updates to the Eastern United States Directory.

*** When an email address is available the GSR Welcome Letters are emailed to reduce mailing expenses.  I am asking DCMs to please continue to obtain GSRs’ email addresses for this purpose.

Area Archivist passed on some group files on February 22, 2006.  A folder is being created for each group.  On March 1, 2006 Andy also provided forms from 2000, which are water damaged.  He is looking into a possible treatment for these documents.  The Registration Committee will begin to file all group archive records alphabetically.   It’s just plain easier to find the group your looking for.

March Round Up Convention – full size district maps were created for display, 10 volunteers signed up.

I am working closely with the Area Secretary & the Website Committee on synchronizing District Information in the Area Minutes, the GSO Database and on the district web pages.  This will be a continuous effort to get everyone on the same page.

I updated the Handicap Accessible A.A. Meeting Directory for the Special Needs Committee.  Visit www.aa-semi.org and Click on General Services, Click on Special Needs Committee and scroll down a little bit and click on Handicap Accessible A.A. Meeting Directory.

Thanks to District 17 for hosting yesterday’s GSR Workshop.  We are looking forward to District 7 & 13’s GSR Workshop on May 27 at the River Rouge Group’s Meeting Place.  As registrar, when mailing new GSRs their welcome letters, I’d like to include a flyer for any GSR Workshops.  April, June, July, August, September, November & December are open for potential workshops.  Please see if your district can help.

Sincerely Yours In Service,

Dave C. - Area 33 Registrar 2006 – 2007
